The next fund raiser is a biggy!

“On your journey to your dream, be ready to face oasis and deserts. In both cases, don’t stop.”

I came across this quote from Paulo Coelho de Souza, the Brazilian lyricist and novelist, best known for his novel The Alchemist, and it seemed most apt on two counts.

Firstly, our sole focus at Corfe Wealth Management is helping people realise their dreams by creating a financial plan that will guide them to making it become a reality.

And secondly, in just five months’ time, I’ll find myself in the middle of one of the largest deserts in the world, the Sahara!

All for a good cause!

Finding ways in which we can give back is highly important to me and supporting charities is one way in which I can do this.

The charities we seek to support are very close to our hearts. For the last 35 years, St Catherine’s Hospice has been there for people living in Sussex and East Surrey, offering both physical and emotional support to those living with a terminal illness and their families.

From caring for people at home, in their Day Hospice and on their wards, their expert teams are on hand to support those facing death and loss. They not only care for those who are terminally ill but offer bereavement and carer support to their loved ones, along with support for children and young adults through counselling.

Their vision is a world where everyone can face death informed, supported and pain free. They treat people with understanding, patience, respect and, most importantly, with dignity.

I have already taken part in several fundraising initiatives for them including the Dragon Boat racing earlier this year.

The next fund raiser is a biggy!

I’m no stranger to trekking, as I spent three days in the Alps raising funds for Macmillan Cancer along with 20 others. As a group we raised in excess of £51,000, which pays for at least one full-time Macmillan Nurse for one year.

I have a feeling that trekking in the Sahara is going to pose quite different challenges!

Apart from setting myself the goal to complete the 6-day trek, which starts on 26th March 2020, I also aim to raise £2300. It’s with this target
that I would like to ask for your support.

You may not have had first-hand experience of the great work that St. Catherine’s Hospice does, but you may know a family that has.

If you feel able to donate just a small amount, I would be most grateful. You can do so on my JustGiving page.
